From Storify: #ADA25 at the @WhiteHouse
“On July 20, 2015, President Obama spoke in the East Room of the White House about the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Many members of the disability community attended the event including Alice Wong, Founder and Project Coordinator of the Disability Visibility Project. Alice attended the event remotely using BeamPro, a telepresence robot that allows a person to stream live with a webcam and move around simply by clicking the arrows on a laptop’s keyboard. Apparently, Alice was the first person to use this type of device in the White House.” – Alice Wong

GovComm 2013 in Washington DC, the Highlights

The Suitable Technologies sales team just returned from GovComm 2013 in Washington DC, and we’re happy to say the show was a huge success! Many folks from different agencies commented that Beam can help the government save money on travel and operate more efficiently.

Suitable Technologies prefers to save money on travel as well. Here’s how we ran a successful trade show by sending only two people on the business trip.

The GovComm show set up began by having our booth designer beam to the trade show floor (using 4G). He project managed the on-site labor and answered questions, and he was very happy to work from his office in California.

Suitable Technologies’ sales team beamed in from Palo Alto, Kansas City, and New York at the start of each day to help.

Two of our sales associates helped by greeting GovComm 2013 attendees in the front lobby.

The sales associates were very popular with attendees, and very helpful with answering questions.

The Suitable Technologies booth was busy the whole show, over 200 people spoke with our sales associates and beamed into our Palo Alto or Kansas City offices for test drives.

After the show, we wanted to see a few sights in DC, and a running group from Georgetown University stopped us for a group photo.

At the end of the day, we decided to take a rickshaw ride through Washington DC in order to tour a few more of the sights.

We had a great time at GovComm 2013. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth!
